Year 12 and 13 - Virtual Healthcare Science Careers Chat: Healthcare Science Week, Monday 11th March 2024, 11:00am – 12:00pm
In the NHS there are over 50 scientific specialisms, and over the last 75 years NHS healthcare science has played a vital role in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease and the health of our population.
For the session - in celebration of Healthcare Science Week, 11-15 March - we will be exploring opportunities in the world of healthcare sciences. Students will hear from diverse healthcare scientists in the NHS, gain insight into their roles, and learn about entry routes into this particular field of healthcare work.
Speakers include:
· Mark Unstead (Lead Respiratory Physiologist)
· Sadie Dresman (Trainee Clinical Scientist in Cancer Genomics)
· Kathryn Drew (Genetic Counsellor).
