Join us at our Ambulance Community Day
Taking place on Monday 30 September in Oldham.
What is it?
Our Ambulance Community Day is an event for the public to come along to and find out more about the ambulance service. Meet staff from our 999, NHS 111 and patient transport services, hazard area response team, NWAS charity, HR and recruitment team and much more. Just a few of the things you can expect from this event:
- Finding out about all the different careers within the ambulance service and entry requirements needed.
- Guidance on how you can start your career with us.
- Meeting local paramedics, call handlers and ambulance care assistants and learn about how your ambulance service works.
- Exploring our ambulance vehicle display.
- Finding out about our volunteer roles to boost your CV.
- Learning how to do CPR with our community resuscitation team.
- Taking part in first aid demonstrations.
- Browsing NHS, other emergency services, and other local partner stands.
- Enjoying free refreshments.
It’s a free, fun day for everybody, and what’s more, you can learn to save a life!

How do I sign up?
You can register by emailing: talk.tous@nwas.nhs.
Alternatively, you can just turn up and walk in on the day!
*** Yr 12s can attend this during lunch (1 - 1.45)
***Yr 13s should avoid missing lessons, if you intend to apply for paramedic science please speak to tutors to see if you can have authorised absence. This should be recorded on CEDAR and you then need to email cb@osfc.ac.uk
