Ever wondered how the magic happens behind the scenes? Do you want to work alongside a live production and make it come to life? Join this FREE Introduction to Technical Theatre course for 13–19 year olds and dive into the world of: LightingSoundStage Management Deadline: 12pm Friday 23rd May 2025 A  short ‘Introduction to Technical Theatre’ course for young people aged 13 – 19 Are you interested in developing new skills in stage management, lighting, sound and visual technologies? Do you want to work alongside a live production and make it come to life? If so, our introduction to technical theatre could be just the thing for you. The course, led by Oldham Theatre Workshop and in partnership with Oldham Coliseum Theatre is designed to offer young people (aged 13 – 19 yrs) their first opportunity to learn about some of the technical aspects of the theatre making process. Leading industry professionals will join the process to deliver specific modules on Lighting, Sound and Stage Management. On completion, participants will gain a number of course specific AQA qualifications and a portfolio of work produced. We will also be working closely with partners in further and higher education to ensure a clear pathway for those wishing to continue learning in this field. When? Tuesday evenings 6 – 9pm.  First session Tuesday 3rd June 2025 Production week Monday 21st July 2025 – Thursday 31st July 2025 Where? Weekly sessions will take place at Oldham Library & Visits to Professional Theatre Venues Production week at Oldham Library Theatre Cost? This course is fully funded and therefore FREE to all participants. Support will also be given to cover any expenses incurred and to ensure all financial barriers to participation are removed.
