Our Work Experience Programme for 14-18 year olds is now open
This virtual programme offers a unique opportunity to explore the House of Commons as a workplace, discover career pathways you may not have considered, and gain insight into the teams that support Parliament every day.
From digital and communications to research, heritage, security and customer services, participants will complete realistic workplace tasks, develop valuable employability skills, and gain a better understanding of the many careers that help Parliament function.
Whether you're thinking about your future career or looking to build your confidence and workplace knowledge, this programme is a great place to start.
This programme is delivered remotely via Waypoint, a platform provided by SixtyLearn, enabling more young people to gain insight into careers at Parliament. This programme gives you the chance to explore Parliament as a workplace, try realistic tasks inspired by real roles, get personalised feedback to help you grow, and learn about the teams that make Parliament happen!
You don’t need to know lots about politics to take part. Parliament is a large workplace with roles in areas such as digital, research, security, heritage, buildings, customer service, communications, finance and more.
You will gain:

different career pathways you may not have considered before
realistic tasks based on the work people do at Parliament
tips to help you talk about the experience in a CV, application or interview
a certificate when you complete the programme
