EXCITING OPPORTUNITY!


Apprenticeship Genius is a award-winning, completely FREE apprenticeship preparation and work-experience programme delivered by Generating Genius in partnership with leading STEM employers and Russell Group universities.

About the Programme

Students selected for Apprenticeship Genius will access:

✔ Apprenticeship Insight & Application Day - Friday 20th March, House of Lords (London)
A flagship conference offering expert guidance on applying for competitive apprenticeships, career insights from employers, and support to make strong, successful applications.
All student travel is fully funded and lunch is provided.

✔ Apprenticeship Genius Summer Workshop Day (2025)
A practical workshop led by top employers and Generating Genius, supporting students to build strong applications and understand different apprenticeship pathways.

✔ Summer 2026 Work Experience Opportunities
Guaranteed work experience with a range of STEM and Finance organisations, enabling students to explore different sectors and strengthen their employability.
Again, all travel and lunch are included.

✔ Uni Genius Application & Insight Day (Summer 2026)
For students applying to both university and apprenticeships, we also provide tailored support with choosing courses, writing applications, and hearing from current students at leading universities.

Who Is This Programme For?

Year 12 students who:
• Are from low socio-economic backgrounds or fit other social mobility criteria (in the application form)
• Are studying at least one of: Maths, Computer Science/IT, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Economics, Finance or Business
• Are motivated to explore apprenticeship routes
• Are interested in STEM or Finance careers
(Not suitable for students pursuing Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science or Pharmacy.)

Key Dates

  • Applications close: Friday 30th January at 9am

  • Outcome of application: No later than Friday 13th February

  • Most activities take place during school holidays

  • Programme delivered both online and in person

Year 12 - Work Experience in Private Equity, Finance or Asset Management - Deadline is 15th March

  Year 12 Students Students will be assigned to a  two-day work experience  in Asset Management & Finance, delivered in partnership with Barings.   Dates:  6th & 7th August  Students may be based anywhere in England but must attend in person in London on 7th August   Completion Award:  £30  Cash prizes available for the winning team challenge Year 12 students will also attend the same two-day  Application Preparation & Employability Skills Programme  (4th August virtual, 5th August in person).
