Yr12 and 13 - virtual eco and environmental work experience opportunities this June.

We’re excited to share a selection of   eco and environmental work experience opportunities   available through Futures For All this June.  These remote programmes are ideal for students interested in sustainability, geography, science, and making a positive impact on the planet.   The opportunities include: Crustacean Compassion A 2-day immersive experience exploring marine animal welfare, combining science, ethics, and advocacy. Students will hear from professionals working in policy, communications, and animal protection, and take part in a real-world project challenge. Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland A 3-day introduction to botany and plant science careers. Students will develop plant identification skills, explore biodiversity, and build confidence in communication and presentation. ecoACTIVE A certified course lasting 2 days, covering key sustainability topics such as climate action, biodiversity, waste management, and environmental policy. Year 13 - £750 university bursary

  The  Save the Student bursary  supports prospective undergraduate students from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds by helping them access essential items as they begin their university journey. Open to those starting in the 2026/27 academic year, the bursary offers  six awards of £750 , delivered through our Aspire platform. Applicants must be UK-domiciled with a household income of £40,000 or less and can use the funding to purchase laptops, bedding, kitchenware, and other university essentials.    We would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with your members to help ensure those who would benefit most are aware and able to apply.  Key Details: Applications open:  Wednesday 22nd April  Extended application deadline:  Friday 26th June   Eligibility: UK-domiciled prospective undergraduate students with a household income of £40,000 or less  Further Information and Application Form

Aon’s Manchester Work Insights Programme for Y12 and Y13 students  closes this Sunday 26 April. Year 12 Discover Tech Information Days with Cisco, IBM, Accenture, BBC, CDW, Softcat

  Building on the hugely successful pilot of Discover Tech in London, we are excited to be expanding this social mobility work experience programme designed by Cisco and leading tech employers, to even more students and bringing the programme  to Manchester for the first time . The pilot showed us just how valuable this experience was:  91% of Discover Tech students said the programme made them feel clearer about their future options 9/10 students said they would recommend the programme to a fellow student in their year group Overview of the Programme Discover Tech is a two-day immersive work experience programme that connects students with leading tech employers and builds work readiness skills for an AI world. We’re currently running a student survey to better understand how young people are making decisions about their next steps after education, and we’d really appreciate your support in sharing it with your students. The survey explores students’ priorities, concerns, motivations, and the key influences shaping their journey from education into employment. All responses are anonymous and will be used to create a final report, which we look forward to sharing with you.
